Seafood Specialist of the Year

Galway Bay Seafoods awarded inaugural BIM Seafood Circle Seafood Specialist of the Year - 2010

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Irish Sea Fisheries Board announced in January 2010 that ‘The Seafood Centre’ at Galway Bay Seafoods had been awarded the inaugural BIM Seafood Circle ‘Seafood Specialist of the Year, 2010’. This new and prestigious award is only presented to seafood retailers that exceed the stringent high standards set by the Seafood Circle, an initiative developed by BIM which recognises and supports retailers and hospitality outlets that consistently offer top quality seafood to their customers.

Donal Buckley, Business Development and Innovation Manager with BIM explains how the Seafood Circle is of benefit to members and customers:

“Congratulations to Noel and John and all the staff at the Seafood Centre. They have worked extremely hard to develop all areas of their business and they truly deserve this award for their Seafood Centre. Their dedication to quality and excellent customer service is core to the Seafood Circle initiative and we are pleased to announce an additional 20 members this year providing a total of 175 members nationwide. We would encourage consumers to look for the Seafood Circle mark when shopping or eating out and in doing so continue to support these important local businesses”.
